Des Moines native Caitlin Clark is set to make her Indiana Fever preseason home debut on May 9 against the Chicago Sky. The highly touted No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft is expected to make her mark in front of her hometown crowd at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Clark, a former standout at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, made a strong impression in her WNBA debut earlier this week, scoring 21 points and grabbing four rebounds in the Indiana Fever's preseason opener against the Dallas Wings. She became the first player in WNBA history to record a 20-point game in her debut since Elena Delle Donne in 2013.

The Fever are hopeful that Clark can help them make a playoff push in 2023 after finishing with a 13-21 record last season. The team has undergone a roster overhaul, with the addition of Clark and other young players. The Fever will open their regular season on May 19 at home against the Minnesota Lynx.
